This job assumes responsibility for budget development and assists with negotiation for assigned portfolio of research studies across multiple disciplines. Works collaboratively with the Principal Investigator (PI), Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), and ancillary departments to determine study team effort, patient services and research administrative costs. Additionally, is responsible for meeting departmental deadlines and performance metrics in a fast paced environment and provides superior customer service to effectively meet the needs of internal and external customers.

Education

Required -High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred -Bachelor's degree

Work Experience

Required -5 years of experience in research administration, finance or a health-related field OR in leiu of 5 years experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare or related field

Preferred - Experience in research administration

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Skills to manage multiple projects at various stages.
  • Ability to work and experience working with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout and between facilities.

    Job Duties
    • Assumes responsibility for budget development in collaboration with the study team for assigned portfolio of research studies across multiple disciplines.
    • Negotiates the budget with the sponsor and/or Contract Research Organization (CRO) to cover all costs to conduct the study.
    • Meets established departmental deadlines and performance metrics.
    • Supports department, division, and institutional goals.
    • Other related duties as required.

      Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.       Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
      Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.

      Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.

      There is no occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.

      Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
