This job assumes responsibility for real estate and leasing accounting, operates as a liaison with corporate and operating departments, assists with preparation of the IRS Form 990, and other duties, as required.

Education

Required -Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

Work Experience

Required - 3 years related experience

Preferred - Experience in real estate lease accounting or public accounting

Certifications

Preferred - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and 2 years of experience

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role.
  • Must be proficient with data analysis; Microsoft Access or similar database skills preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to interpret apply those principles.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Self-directed.
  • Ability to work various hours, such as nights, weekends, etc.

    Job Duties
    • Month-end functions such as journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
    • Completes the annual real estate budget.
    • Reconciliation between LeaseQuery lease system and reports provided by third party lease administrator.
    • Prepares related disclosures for the financial statement audit.
    • Acts as a liaison between Treasury and corporate and operating areas.
    • Research and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles related to the function.
    • Implement and maintain internal controls.
    • Initiates quality improvements.
    • Role in the Form 990 preparation process.
    • Other related duties as required.

      Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.

      Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
