We are currently seeking an entry level qualified and motivated professional individual who will perform a variety of routine accounting and or review work which requires the application of accounting theory and practices. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 90% General Accounting Performs professional-level accounting duties such as: Assisting in reconciliations for merchandise inventory owned accounts Completing journal entries Works closely with other merchandise inventory accountants to ensure accuracy of reporting Works closely with locations to resolve merchandise inventory issues and provide guidance with MIA (Merchandise Inventory Application) and location merchandise inventory forms. Examines a variety of accounting documents to verify accuracy of computations Ensures transactions are in accordance with applicable authority, policies, procedures, and are recorded consistent with acceptable accounting standards Demonstrates or explains accounting practices and procedures as requested Prepares accounting reports and supplemental schedules Creates journal entries on a monthly basis 10% Compliance and Auditing Prepares various reports for compliance with GAAP regulations Responds to SOX and internal and external audit requests as needed Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline 0 - 2 years accounting experience Understanding of accounting principles, GAAP Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations Ability to work independently, prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines Ability to prepare and present working papers and supporting documentation Proficiency with PC software such as Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Ability to express ideas clearly and effectively in both written and oral communications Postal Code: 70121 Category (Portal Searching): Finance and Accounting Job Location: US-LA - Jefferson
