Job Description Job Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Elmwood, Louisiana. This is a short-term contract to permanent position within the wholesale distribution industry, offering an excellent opportunity for growth. In this role, you will play a key part in managing accounts payable functions, including processing and reconciling invoices, handling expense reports, and supporting audits. Responsibilities: • Manage administrative tasks and clerical duties for the Accounts Payable and Finance departments. • Ensure daily operations are completed accurately and efficiently, adhering to company policies. • Provide exceptional customer service to internal teams and business partners. • Support both internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation. • Open, sort, and distribute incoming departmental mail. • Organize and maintain records by sorting, logging, photocopying, and filing invoices, checks, and related documents. • Verify and process checks for mailing, including handling urgent requests. • Assist with special projects as assigned to support departmental goals. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage changing priorities. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and financial teams. • Knowledge of accounts payable processes, including coding invoices, ACH transactions, and check runs. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
