More About the Role:
The Defense Group of Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a
Transformation/Modernization Engineer to support efforts for the
Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) portion of the Next Generation
Enterprise Network Re-compete (NGEN-R) Service Management,
Integration, and Transport (SMIT) contract. NGEN-R SMIT is the
Navy's largest IT services program valued up to $7.7 billion over 8
years. The Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the NMCI,
including cybersecurity services, network operations, network
engineering, end user support, service desk, and data
Network Transformation/Modernization (NT/M) is a continuous process
that will modernize the NMCI network infrastructure to include
Compute, Storage, Network, WAN, LAN, BAN, and other additional
existing network infrastructure. Network Transformation will
provide a continuous evolution of new technologies, solutions, and
services, including non-IT. Network Transformation will standardize
and simplify NMCI to increase operational efficiencies.
Play a critical role in the Network Transformation/Modernization
(NT/M) process for executing network optimization, improving
efficiency of services, and enhancing network design that meets the
Navy's future warfighting and business needs for Global Service
This position is remote/virtual preferably near St. Louis Area or
Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA).
What You'll Get to Do:
---Execute and optimize the SMIT NMCI Network
Transformation/Modernization (NT/M) process for candidate
initiatives totaling up to $125M per year.
---Collaborate with Government stakeholders in extrapolating the
Department of Navy's strategy, goals, and objectives as well as
service gaps and initiatives.
---Collect and assess technical data on the "As-Is" NMCI
environment to identify current and projected NMCI service gaps
across all NGEN-R service providers.
---Liaison with CTO, technical leads, and IT industry experts to
research and document emergent NMCI-relevant technologies and
services as well as industry adoption trends.
---Support the Chief Engineer, Chief Network Architect, and Domain
Architects in developing and updating the Transformation Technology
---Analyze NT/M initiatives to substantiate customer/user
requirements and assess alternative solutions.
---Update and maintain the 5-Year NT/M Plan.
---Develop and update CDRLs working with Domain Architects for
Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and Business Case Analysis (BCA) as
well as high-level Project Plans for selected NT/M initiatives.
---Work with the Domain Architects to develop Technical Assessments
(TAs) by collecting and analyzing data to assess the NT/M project's
impact on existing site environment (facility, servers, storage,
network, and non-IT) for recommendation.
---Work with NT/M team members in identifying areas for process

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
---Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related
discipline and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Master's
Degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
---U.S. Citizen and DoD Secret Clearance with ability to upgrade to
TS/SCI Clearance (if needed).
---Detailed self-starter with the flexibility to multi-task
independently and as part of a team in managing activities/tasks to
---Proven ability to working with multiple levels of internal and
external stakeholders (senior leadership and staff) to resolve
---Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining multiple
technical documents, analyses, and reports, such as, Analysis of
Alternatives (AoA), Business Case Analysis (BCA), and Technical
Assessment (TA) CDRLs.
---Strong business acumen and analytical skills with experience in
project planning and management, including modeling and sensitivity
---Understanding of financial concepts such as Total Cost of
Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI), Net Present Value
(NPV), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR).
---Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Access,
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
---Experience with preparing and presenting briefings to senior
customer management, customer stakeholders, and internal
---Excellent oral and written communication skills.
---Ability to travel as needed to support internal and customer
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
---4+ years of previous experience working in a large matrixed
---Successful track record in planning and executing on managed IT

Pay Range $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 - $135,000.00
