Description:
SUMMARY
Repair and maintenance engines, transmissions, gearboxes,
hydraulics, and electrical and pneumatic systems on a variety of
yard equipment, (i.e., hoisting equipment, manlift/scissorlifts,
forklift/loaders, dozer/sidebooms, pipe mill and fab shop
equipment, burning equipment, painting and blasting equipment,
compressors, winches, trucks and other vehicles). The person
holding this position must have the ability to perform a wide
variety of duties including, but not limited to the following.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other
duties may be assigned.
Plan, organize and accomplish work with minimal direction and
supervision.
Climb and work on and around equipment, using ladders, steps,
etc.
Read and understand service manuals, electric, hydraulic and air
piping schematics, etc.
Operate mechanic hand, power, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical
tools.
Troubleshoot hydraulic, electric and pneumatic systems.
Use a burning torch and torque wrench.
Operate portable and shop blasting equipment.
Use measurement instruments such as measuring tapes, rulers,
calipers, etc., as required.
Adhere to all Company safety rules and regulations and be familiar
with all safety equipment.
Climb and work in high areas and in confined spaces.
Keep work areas clean and in orderly condition.
Comply with all OSHA Safety rules and regulations.
Off-site work occasionally required.
Participate in the Company's QHS&E Management System through
quality performance, through actions
that safeguard the environment and through actions that enhance
health and safety in the workplace.

Position consists of heavy work and the employee is subject to both
outside and inside environmental conditions and hazards such as
working on scaffolding and in high areas, high heat, and in the
proximity of moving machinery and equipment and exposures to oils
and lubes.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must
be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The
requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be

The person holding this position must have their own mechanic tools
and storage boxes. Must demonstrate ability to read and understand
hydraulic and electrical schematics. Must have the ability to drive
either standard or automatic vehicles. Person holding this position
must also be willing to climb, work in high areas and in confined
spaces, work overtime, nights and weekends as required by workload,
work around oils, lubes, loud noises, hot equipment, vibrations,
and maintain balance when working in high areas. Person should also
have legible written communication skills and the ability to read.
Must be able to wear full body harness within safety limits per
OSHA Standards.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school or high school equivalent education, with three (3)
years work experience in hydraulic and friction cranes required,
five (5) years work experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver's license required.
TWIC card required.
