Job Description Job Description Building Technician Building Technician - Commercial Position Overview The Building Technician - Commercial is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall functionality of commercial buildings. This role involves ensuring that all systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, are operating efficiently and safely, while also performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks. Key Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections of building systems including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC to ensure proper functionality. Perform repairs and maintenance on various systems within the building, addressing any issues that arise promptly. Execute preventive maintenance schedules to avoid breakdowns and extend the lifespan of building systems. Respond to service requests and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner to minimize disruption to building operations. Maintain documentation related to maintenance activities and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems as required, following all safety protocols and procedures. Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors to complete larger repair projects as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in building maintenance or related field preferred. Proven experience as a building technician or in a similar maintenance role, preferably in a commercial setting. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance practices. Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to building maintenance. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions. Capable of performing physical tasks associated with maintenance work, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
