Job DescriptionAt Reily Foods Company we've got a passion for flavor and have been providing iconic foods and beverages that create meals and memories for over 120 years! Our products consist of Luzianne Iced Tea, New England Coffee, Swan's Down Cake Flour, and Blue Plate Mayonnaise (to name a few) and can be found in retail locations around the country. We're a 5th generation, family company based out of one of the top culinary cities in the country, New Orleans! Job Summary: The Production Manager will develop and implement production standards that will improve efficiency and foster a continuous improvement culture. This position is responsible for the oversight of safety, food safety, quality, HACCP, GMP, sanitation, and regulatory compliance within the production environment. Responsibilities:

  • Leads production team to achieve production KPIs and uses performance data to drive improvement and provide optimal production performance
  • Maintains KPI scorecard within the key plant areas and conducts KPI review meetings with the leadership and production team(s)
  • Communicates specific and clear company and individual objectives with employees
  • Coaches and develops production team to reach professional development goals
  • Provides current, direct, complete and actionable positive and corrective feedback to employees
  • Collaborates with Plant Manager and plant leadership to develop plans to drive efficiencies, increase throughput, reduce waste and develop our workforce
  • Supports the development of long-term plant goals and objectives as well as annual operating plans and budgets
  • Reviews capacity plans and weekly production schedules to ensure effective scheduling of personnel and equipment; monitors attendance, overtime and equipment efficiency to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Effectively collaborates with Production Planning, Quality and Maintenance to understand priorities and communicate issues to the team
  • Champions safety and environmental compliance by example and though leadership practices while working with the Plant Safety Leader to continually review working practices to ensure safety is the top priority
  • Implements and maintains company manufacturing policies and procedures and production control programs
  • Ensures the operation is providing food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assignedRequirements:
    • BA/BS in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or other STEM related degree preferred
    • 7+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably within a food and beverage or consumer products manufacturing environment
    • 5 years of supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to successfully build and mentor high performance teams
    • Understanding of major functions within the plant and the ability to work directly with all levels and functions
    • Continuous Improvement mindset with success developing, implementing, and achieving production KPIs
    • Collaborative, positive and ethical leader who fosters a highly engaged team environment
    • Familiarity with production planning, scheduling, and forecasting
    • ERP experience, MS Dynamics AX preferred
    • Excellent problem solver; understands issues and proactively develops effective solutions to technical and personnel issues
    • Strong organization skills with the ability to effectively prioritize multiple activities and requirements
    • Ability to manage change and constantly strive for improvement
    • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
    • Knowledge of GFSI audit schemes, such as BRC and SQF
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office products
