Job DescriptionJob Summary:The Food Service Manager is
responsible for the operation and management of the kitchen, dining
room, and other appointed food service areas. By utilizing the food
service team, this manager is responsible for the efficient
execution of all fresh food and food service programs. The Food
Service Manager is responsible for maintaining a safe, sanitary,
and appetizing food service environment. This manager will prepare
and oversee food production ensuring food is properly prepared,
cooked, presented and served. The Food Service Manager ensures an
exceptional customer experience by ensuring and demonstrating world
class customer service.Essential Functions:
- Ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers.
Respond to and resolve customer complaints. Solicit customer
feedback, input, and information in order to formulate a plan for
consistently meeting the expectations of all customers.
- Ensure the proper execution of assigned foodservice programs
and procedures. Assure fresh, quality food, hot coffee and
beverages are available at all times.
- Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding food service
profitability goals.
- Oversee the inventory and ordering of products and
supplies.
- Ensure the routine maintenance and upkeep of all food service
equipment and facilities.
- Analyze and react to Profit and Loss statements and utilize
other reports and trends to identify areas of opportunity ensure
profitability. Develop and execute action plans.
- Ensure the proper execution of all assigned food service
marketing programs, promotions, campaigns, and strategies. Interact
with, motivate, and encourage team members to promote all marketing
initiatives.
- Execute the training, coaching, counselling, and performance
management of Food Service Associates. Assist the Store manager
with all matters relating to food service and store associate
recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, etc. Recognize and reward
employees.
- Ensure training process is executed effectively and as
designed. Conduct hands on training in order to validate that all
associates are trained to perform their jobs safely and
effectively. Oversee and monitor all aspects of training in order
to ensure proficiency.
- Ensure execution of established safety, security, quality and
store operation policies, procedures, and processes.
- Supervise the day-to-day task assignments and performance for
all team members. Ensure Food Service workers have the tools,
equipment, and supplies necessary to perform their jobs.
- Take customer orders; cook and prepare food items as necessary.
Serve food in correct portions.
- Adhere to all policy, health code, and safety regulations for
the service, preparation, and storage of food.
- Maintain proper stock levels for all serving, kitchen, dining,
food preparation and condiment areas.
- Order, schedule and receive food, paper goods, and supplies
from approved vendors.
- Ensure time/temperature rotations are adhered to. Ensure proper
cooking and holding temperatures for prepared food items are
followed.
- Practices, enforces, and maintains safe food handling
procedures at all times.
- Ensures the availability and quality of hot bar/warmer items
and prepared food at all times.
- Work closely with the Store Manager to develop schedules,
ensure efficient, productive staffing while adhering to labor
budgets.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports and inventories
correctly and timely.
- Follow and enforce company uniform, appearance, and dress code
policies.
- Adhere to and enforce the execution of established safety and
security policies and procedures.
- Check in external and internal vendors according to standards
and procedures.
- Follow and enforce all company policies, procedures, and
quality standards.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of store equipment.
Ensure work orders are submitted in a timely manner and the
appropriate person/agency is contacted in case of emergency or
safety issues.
- Ensure all areas of the store and surrounding grounds are neat,
clean, and organized.
- Ensure that the store is in compliance with health code
requirements related to food service handling based on local, state
and federal requirements.
- Ensures that robbery and incident prevention procedures are
followed.
- Meet regularly with the District Manager to discuss store
opportunities.
- Report all workers comp and customer accidents in a timely
manner.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned to
accommodate store operational needs.
- Lead by example with a sense of urgency and purpose, treating
others with a positive and respectful attitude.
- Represent the company brand by exemplifying its core
values.Qualifications:
- 6 months experience preferred.
- Must be willing to study for and pass the Food Service
Protection Manager course.
- Basic language and mathematical skills.
- Must be self-directed, needing little supervision.
- Must be detail oriented with exceptional organizational
skills.
- Proven leadership skills and decision making ability.
- Ability to Multitask, perform repeated bending, reaching,
prolonged standing, and be able to occasionally lift up to 50
pounds.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short
correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to work 40-50 hours per week. Willingness and
availability to work all shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays as
required by the needs of the business.
- Must be able to reliably report to work on time, as
scheduled.
- Must be responsible, dependable, and acceptable to
