Job Title: - -Director of Music/Accompanist Location: - -Belle
Chasse , LA 70037Duties:
The Candidate shall provide DMA
services at the chapel located on NAS JRB New Orleans. The DMA may
use chapel equipment when providing DMA support; the Candidate will
provide the following:Musical direction for both Protestant and
Roman Catholic worship services.Accompaniment for the rendition of
music required during worship services. This will include: prelude
music, calls to worship, congregational singing, offertories,
postludes, and other music as required by the respective chaplain
or CRMP. The Government will provide music compositions. Additional
music presented by the Candidate will be based on compositions
appropriate to the faith groups attending worship
services.Coordinate and consult with the officiating chaplain or
CRMP concerning the selection of all choral selections, choruses,
hymns, and other music utilized in the worship service.Submit to
CRP religious program information for worship service
programs/bulletins.Piano accompaniment for Sunday Protestant
Services - 52 Services - each service 1-hour duration.Piano
accompaniment for Sunday Catholic Worship Services - 52 Services -
each service 1-hour durationRehearsal - 1 hour before each
servicePiano accompaniment for Special Services - 2 Services - each
service 1-hour durationQualifications:
Shall be a musician with the
requisite skills and experience acceptable to lead a variety of
religious worship services.. Have the ability to sight read music,
play contemporary protestant worship/praise music on a piano, and
direct. other musicians and vocalists in four-part musical
scores.Provide leadership, direction, and administration for the
Catholic and Protestant musical program.Dress modest business
casual when providing support and in public areas. Exercise good
hygiene, be neat,clean, and well-groomed.
Must have a positive personality and
pleasant demeanor when interfacing with chapel staff,
visitors,military personnel, parishioners, and others.
-Education/Certification:
The Candidate shall be at least a
High School graduate with a minimum of two (2) years of music
education and/or experience. The Candidate shall hold knowledge of
hymnal background, thorough technical preparation in organ playing
to include a broad knowledge of the literature of the instrument, a
comprehensive knowledge of the literature of church music.
Knowledge of the art of conducting.The Candidate shall possess a
