Unit Description
Sodexo is seeking General Manager 5 - Catering -for Tulane University, located in New Orleans, LA.
All Tulane Dining General Managers operate as team, supporting the other GMs as requested.
Sodexo Campus Services at Tulane University currently seeking a -General Manager 5 -Catering to oversee, drive and direct -Catering operations for the campus. Catering Managers and Catering Chefs will report to the Catering General Manager. -
The General Manager -will have a high focus on the development of catering client relations, sales growth, implementation of systems and process to maximize client and customer satisfaction. - Employee and manager training, customer service, tracking feed-back, preparing awesome food, driving excellence, and developing creative catering -events are primary goals. A focus on sustainability, diversity, marketing, out of the box thinking -and a desire to gain national recognition for our catering department is required for the successful candidate. -
Candidate will have strong written and oral communications and be comfortable presenting to large groups. With multiple units, an emphasis on finances will require that the successful candidate will have strong business acumen with the ability to asses' financial data and communicate action plans to their team, the client and the GM6.
Ideal candidate:

  • Previous College or contracted environment with multi-unit responsibility is preferred however restaurant or hotel experience could be accepted.
  • Experience in high volume multi unit food service retail. -Brand experience a plus!
  • Deep background and full understanding in high volume catering management from systems to process, at all levels from planning to execution preferred, -
  • High level communication skills and proven ability to be strong -in client and student engagement needed for success,
  • Strong in leadership and ability to train and mentor a plus!
  • Full understand of financial acumen -of business and ability to analyze and plan for the future.
  • Seeking a leader with the ability to grow catering business to next tier!

    Position Summary
    Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.
