Description:SUMMARYThe LSU Healthcare Network is a non-profit, academic, multi-specialty, healthcare delivery system dedicated to patient care, research and education. The LSU Healthcare Network is made up of over 175 healthcare providers - from primary care to specialty care - at several multi-specialty care locations in and around the Greater New Orleans area.The Director of Clinic Operations will lead the LSUHN healthcare team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care while effectively managing clinic resources and operations. Participate in facility planning Direct the development of tactical plans and objectives, based on the organizational strategic plans.Ensure attainment of objectives through the design of an organizational structure that effectively and efficiently utilizes resources.Participates with Senior Staff in the development, allocation and maintenance of clinical space and systems.Identifies and communicates key operational indicators for faculty and staff, provides routine feedback about changes in performance and develops action plans to improve performance.Participates in the preparation of operating and capital budgets.Participates in the decision-making process concerning information and telecommunication systems.Develops, Implements and maintains continuous quality improvement programs concerning patient care.Continue to expand the clinical programs and refine operations as required.Foster a smoothly functioning, efficient organization through timely and effective identification and resolution of problems and conflicts.Establish a liaison with department chairs and business managers to provide support and improve patient care.Participate with the Director of Human Resources in the development and maintenance of a training curriculum for staff related to improving customer service. Maintain open communication between operations and IT Dept. to work through operational processes that are affected by EPIC and/or general networking issues in order to maintain knowledge of best practices concerning health systems operations. Participate and contribute discussions with the network IT team and LCMC related to EPIC issues from an operational standpoint.Develop, maintain and communicate information about what the market is demanding in terms of patient and referring physician satisfaction.Participate in or direct projects related to clinical improvement that will involve large numbers of staff throughout the organization.Must maintain clear visibility in the clinics to get to know managers and all clinic support staff.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee all Practice Managers and Clinic Office ManagersRequirements:EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field; Master's preferredMinimum of 5 years' experience in healthcare management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing clinic operations. Experience with project management is preferred. EPIC Experience preferred.Certification in healthcare administration or clinic management is a plusCOMPETENCIESProven track record in clinic or outpatient center management, demonstrating improvements in efficiency, patient satisfaction, and financial performanceStrong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and CMS guidelinesExperience with budget preparation and financial management in a healthcare setting High degree of decision making in terms of developing the organizational structure with sensitivity toward the cultural environment of the practice. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and healthcare technologyExcellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clinics or departmentsDemonstrated ability to develop and implement operational strategies and improve processesEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with medical staff, administrators, and external stakeholdersExperience in staff hiring, training, evaluation, and developmentAbility to analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings to executive leadership and stakeholdersKnowledge of quality improvement and patient safety principlesCommitment to patient-centered care and service excellencePHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or control; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.Employee must occasionally lift and/or move 25-50 pounds.
