This job assists the hospital in the care of patients and performs special technical skills/treatments according to level of knowledge under the supervision of a physician.This job description is a summary of the primary duties and responsibilities of the job and position. • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.

• Ability to identify medical emergencies and assist with management.Job Duties
  • Provides direct patient care, within the scope of their license, with supervision from the physician. This may include the following: medical treatment of wounds at the basic/intermediate/advanced level, would care, ability to administer medications by pre-established protocol which includes vasoactive medications, draw bloodwork, place splints/boots/etc., Foley insertion, use of glucometer, I-STAT, Kurin, vital signs (rectal temps/immunocompromised), and IV fluid administration. The position may administer preset protocols and standing orders, as ordered by a physician.
  • Performs clinical job duties as defined in orientation packet for skills checkoff and monitored on an annual basis thereafter through annual competency assessment.
  • Supports physicians, nursing, and hospital administration by acceptance of established objectives, policies and procedures. Demonstrates understanding of and compliance with EMTALA regulations.
  • Accurately documents patient related tasks.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
