Functional Position Title: CLINICAL TRIALS COORDINATOR 1 OR 2
Position Number: Appointment Type: Regular Location-City: New
Orleans School/Division: MEDICAL SCHOOL Department: Orthopedics
Position Summary: The Clinical Trials Coordinator will work
collectively within a multidisciplinary clinical/research team to
ensure that all aspects of patient management are executed both
timely and accurately. Incumbent must be comfortable working
independently, managing interactions with and between team members,
both internally and externally; ensuring that all NIH grant funded,
industry-sponsored or investigator-driven studies/trials are
managed to the highest quality to ensure safety and effectiveness.
The incumbent will promote improved access for patients to clinical
trials, and facilitate research activities throughout
LSUHSC-affiliated clinics and programs as assigned. The incumbent
will also prepare and edit clinical study protocols and scientific
documents. Minimum Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's
Discipline(s): Physical Sciences (biology, chemistry, physics,
etc), Healthcare/Public Health or related field
Certifications/Licenses Required: Clinical Trials Coordinator II:
CCRC/CCRP Indicate the minimum number of years required to do the
job: Clinical Trials Coordinator I: 1 year; Clinical Trials
Coordinator II - 3 years Indicate the type of experience required
to do the job: Research or clinical experience in a
hospital/clinic/academic setting; Strong basic computer skills
including word processing, knowledge of spreadsheet functions,
database management and web browsing. Indicate if any combination
of specific experience, training and education may be substituted
for the required education or experience: At the CTC II level, one
additional year of Clinical Trials experience may substitute for
the CCRC/CCRP at the departments discretion. At the CTC I or II
level, an LPN and 2 additional years may substitute for the
Bachelors. AT ANY LEVEL, a Masters can substitute for one year of
experience. Preferred Education: Master's Discipline(s): Physical
sciences, public health/healthcare, or related field
Certifications/Licenses Preferred: CCRC / CCRP Indicate the
preferred experience to perform the job: Five years of research
