Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - GI Stepdown Unit Job

Minimum of 2 years in PCU specialty License: Compact or State
License required Certifications: - Required: BCLS - Preferred: NIH,
ACLS, PCU Certification Must-Have: EPIC experience, COVID-19 and
Flu vaccines (Medical/Religious Exemptions Only) Job Description: -
Care for patients with diagnoses such as diverticulitis, colitis,
pancreatitis, various cancers, small bowel obstructions, delayed
gastric emptying, tracheal stenosis, various fistulas, and hip
fractures. - Work with special procedures including Triple AAA
repair, exploratory laparotomy, laryngectomy, ileostomy takedown,
esophagectomy, Whipple procedure, gastrectomy, chest tubes, lung
resection, VAT, RAT, and liver resections. - Utilize special
equipment such as IS, bedside commode, polar ice machine, urinals,
continuous Doppler inside surgical wounds, bear hugger, specialty
beds, wound vac, and bladder irrigations. - Maintain a
patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4. - Must be willing to float as
needed. - Orientation includes 8 non-billable hours. Additional
Information: - The unit does not accept first-time travelers. -
Travelers must be from a minimum distance from the facility. -
Criminal background checks and drug screenings may be required. -
References from previous managers or supervisors are necessary for
contract clearance. - AHA certifications are mandatory. - AWHONN
Intermediate is necessary for L&D specialization. - Previous
employees must have a gap of one year if they have worked as
permanent staff or in-house agency contractors before becoming
