Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PACU Job Details: • Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care for pediatric and adult populations • Care for patients across all major surgical services with 1:2 patient ratio • Work in 34 operating rooms across 2 floors plus cysto suites and GI labs • Support surgical procedures including endoscopy, interventional radiology, and pulmonary lab cases • Must be comfortable working with patients of all ages including pediatrics • 2-3 scheduled weekends per contract required • Epic charting system experience required • 2 years of nursing experience required with travel experience preferred • PACU or pre/post operative experience preferred • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (AHA required) • Work with specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein • Handle regional anesthesia and ECT procedures • Must maintain Louisiana nursing license or compact state license • Emergency team assignment possible during facility emergencies with expectation to remain until event passes • Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted) • Orientation held 5 days per week with billable modules Facility: This major medical center operates a comprehensive surgical department with 34 operating rooms across two floors, serving a diverse patient population from neonates to geriatrics.
