with admit, discharge and transfer functions of assigned unit.
Performs various functions to support the department, including
processing reservations, managing the phones and following up on
patient, family, and staff requests in a timely fashion. To perform

discretion. Education Required - High School diploma or equivalent
Work Experience Required - None Preferred - Experience in the
healthcare industry Certifications Required - Certification in
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association within
90 days of hire at Community Hospitals, unless designated on
Regulatory Grid. Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) - Must have
computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval
of information. - Effective verbal and written communication skills
and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various
software packages specific to role and keyboard. - Strong
interpersonal skills. - Thorough understanding of current medical
terminology. - Self-directed with the ability to work independently
and exercise sound judgment in difficult situations. - Strong
organizational, planning and time management skills. Job Duties -
Provides clerical support for the department. - Responds to
requests from patients, family, and staff and refers to appropriate
personnel as needed. - Serves as Patient Experience Ambassador for
the unit. - Assesses EPIC chart reports to ensure proper unit
charges. - Adapts behavior to the specific patient population,
including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of
introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or
procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and
communication style. - Other related duties as required. The above

exposure or potential for exposure may occur. The incumbent works
with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and
may enter isolation rooms. The incumbent has an occupational risk
for exposure to all communicable diseases. Normal routine involves
no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their
employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in
emergency care or first aid. Because the incumbent works within a
healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to
hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment
through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing,
administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The
risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job
