and refugee care. Job Description The Operating Room (OR)
Registered Nurse (RN) in this position will represent International
SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and will provide
comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel
stationed in Iraq. The OR RN will use a holistic approach to care
for the patients requiring acute medical or surgical interventions.
Nurses will be accountable clinically for ensuring nursing care
compliance within accepted standards of care and clinical practice.
Nurses will use clinical judgment in assessing, planning,
implementing, documenting, and evaluating patient care in the
pre-operative, surgical and post-operative environments where
life-threatening disease or injury requires close monitoring and at
times quick intervention. The Nurse functions both dependently and
independently within guidance and direction from the Nurse
Manager/designee. • Provide OR Nurse coverage for all patients in
the acute and intensive care settings, short stay unit, acute and
chronic pain management services. • Assist with diagnostic
transesophageal echocardiogram for medical and surgical patients,
and emergency airway management. • Prepare patient prior to surgery
to alleviate concerns. • Gather all supplies needed for the
operation. • Assume responsibility of keeping the operating room
sterilized. • Position and prepare patient on operating room table.
• Pass medical instruments or objects to the surgeon during
operation. • Evaluate patient in post operative phases. • Assist
surgeon at the patients’ bedside if the patient is not ambulatory,
and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the
outpatient clinic. • Assist with emergency airway management and
surgeon provided consultative services at the patient’s bedside or
in the outpatient clinic as needed. • Ensure timely presence for
scheduled clinics/surgeries, documented by physical presence in the
clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time. • Maintain
compliance with all project site procedures, standards, and
continuing educational and mandatory training requirements. •

Completes required organizational compliance education, including
assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint
Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other
regulatory bodies. Qualifications Basic
Requirements/Certifications: • Current, full, active, and
unrestricted Registered Nurse license in a State, Territory or
Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the
District of Columbia. • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). • 3 years’ experience, 6
months OR RN experience within the past year, experience abroad or
in austere environment preferred. • Basic proficiency with
Microsoft Office. Education Required: • Associates, Bachelor or
Master of Science in Nursing - Candidates must be a graduate of a
school of nursing that was approved and/or accredited by the
appropriate State agency and accredited by either the Accreditation
Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on
Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) at the time the program was
completed. Physical Requirements: • Must meet pre-deployment
physical requirements • Work involves sitting and standing for
prolonged periods of time. • May require bending, stooping and
lifting to 25 lbs. Other Special Qualifications: • US Citizen or
Permanent Resident Card is required. • Valid US Passport with at
least 18 months before expiration date. Must maintain a current
passport during your stay in Iraq. • Ability to obtain and maintain
a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically a MRPT.
Applicants with current clearances are preferred. • Must be able to
relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project. • Must be able to
read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
Additional Information Pay range is based on several factors and
may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or
other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the
applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and
alignment with geographical market data. Benefits – Full-time
