Behavioral in Magnolia, MS is taking applications position for a
Psychiatric Program Director. The Program Director/Nurse Manager
will oversee a 14 bed senior adult DPU, under administrative
direction and will manage consistently with the program philosophy.
This role assesses, plans, implements and evaluates delivery of
psychiatric nursing care. He/she provides managerial support to the
hospital Director of Nurses by providing supervision and evaluation
of all nursing personnel. He/she contributes to the program,
nursing and the Hospital through support of nursing and program
philosophy and objectives to meet the psychiatric program need.
Duties include but are not limited to: Collaborates with the
medical and clinical staff in coordinating and managing the medical
and psychosocial treatment plan. Provides input in formulating
patient care policies, procedures, and nursing care standards for
establishing effective treatment plans. Ensures continuity of
nursing care based on the knowledge of clinical nursing needs and
the patients individual treatment plans. Supervises all nursing
activities related to patient care and sets guidelines for accurate
reporting and recording or patients symptoms, reactions, and
progress. Administers nursing care to patients as needed, in order
to maintain clinical skills, assesses particular patient
requirement and/or provide clinical support to the staff nurses in
knowledgeable and competent manner. Attends interdisciplinary team
meetings to ensure the delivery of quality patient care. Monitors
Quality Assurance and identifies areas for improvement with regular
performance improvement measures. Develops patient monitoring
measures to accommodate volume of referrals. Ensures nursing staff
completes duties in regard to the highest quality of care
especially with treatment plans, initial nursing assessments, skin
assessments, daily rounds, fall assessments, nutritional
screenings, and discharge planning Qualified candidates must
possess an active nursing license in good standing with the State
of Mississippi Nursing Board. Demonstrated experience with
psych/behavioral health is required. Experience with the geriatric
population is strongly preferred. Freedom Behavioral provides equal
