Inthis role you will:
- Assesspatient thoroughly and accurately; assess patient,
family, significantother for educational needs about disease
process and treatment; identifyappropriate methods of assessment
related to age group; understand normalranges of physiological
standards for age group.
- Documentspatient assessment, medication administration, changes
in patient scondition, teaching, level of response and method(s)
used withinunit/department-specific guidelines.
- Individualizesplan of care related to patient
diagnosis/condition and age group.Participates in
interdisciplinary/discharge planning, including anyeducational
needs into plan of care.
- Evaluatesthe effects of any interventions and adjusts care
accordingly; performssystematic and ongoing assessments to evaluate
the effectiveness of theplan of care; evaluates effectiveness of
instruction/teaching withpatient, family or significant other.
- Demonstratesappropriate and effective delegation as governed by
the LA State Board ofNursing and policies of TUHC.
- Completesall mandatory, regulatory, hospital and unit-based
requirements forposition by due date; attends 75% of scheduled
staff meetings;participates in unit based, department based, or
hospital basedcommittees. Qualifications
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Louisiana
Licensureas a Registered Nurse, ACLS Certification required within
1 year ofemployment. Current American Heart Association CPR
- Education: Graduate of an accreditedschool preparing Registered
- Experience: One year in area ofpractice preferred by not
- Special qualifications: Must be able tosuccessfully complete
established competencies for the position withindesignated
probationary period. Effective communication skills; both oraland
written. Computer skills needed. Ability to work with others
withina team to ensure quality patient care. Strong
problem-solvingskills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal
with a variety ofconcrete variables in situations where only
limited standardizationexists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished inwritten, oral, diagram or schedule
