Description: General Purpose: The Bakery Team Member/Cake Decorator is essential to maintain fresh baked goods and excellent customer service within the Bakery department. Work Schedule: Up to 28 Hours per week, weekends required Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Customer Service
  • Cake Decorating
  • Prepare all baked goods
  • Inventory Control
  • Clean all areas of the bakery department
  • Merchandising - Keeping displays clean and well stocked
  • Understand and practice store safety rules
  • Change department pricing as directed and manually price mark or label merchandise
  • Evaluate product quality and remove out-of-date/bad items
  • Keep the Bakery clear of debris and trash
  • Change signs, light bulbs, shelf signs/tags, and price markers
  • Communicate with the Bakery Manager on problems, change recommendations, and merchandising ideas.
  • Check case, cooler and freezer temperatures three times daily.
  • Record out-of-stock conditions and the time they occur
  • Prepare, package and fill sales orders.
  • Perform any other miscellaneous tasks assigned by the Bakery and Store Manager Requirements: Required Education / Experience:
    • Education and work history demonstrating stability
    • 1+ years of bakery experience
    • Ability to effectively communicate and establish working relationships
    • Experience, understanding, and knowledge of operations in a food service business/industry
    • Merchandising Skills
    • Basic reading and writing ability
    • Must be a self-starter who is able to demonstrate initiative in planning, work ethic, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment. Physical Demands
      • Work on tile or concrete standing for extended periods of time
      • Lift a maximum of 50 lbs. from 6 inches to 84 inches, overhead
      • Move a maximum of 50 lbs. up to 15 yards
      • Use maintenance and product transportation equipment
      • Reach forward and/or down with both hands up to 36 inches
      • Handle various equipment in association with Deli Department job duties
      • Bend and Twist at the waist while reaching and holding items
      • Climb on ladders, racks, cases, shelving, and stairs up to three feet in height.
      • Balance on wet, slick, dirty, and debris-strewn floors.
