Nephrology Opportunity - New Orleans, LA (Unparalleled Nightlife and Music Scene, World Famous Food and Culinary Experiences)
Tulane University School of Medicine s Transplant Institute is currently seeking candidates for a Nephrology clinical faculty position to serve as Medical Director of the Transplant program.

Qualified Candidates:

• Requires a minimum of 3 year-experience after transplant nephrology fellowship training
• Successful candidate may assume the role of medical director of the kidney and pancreas transplantation program
• Medical director of transplant program shall report to the director of Tulane Transplant Institute in clinical aspect and have an academic appointment with Department of Medicine
• Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree
• Candidates should have satisfactorily completed a training program in general nephrology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and transplant nephrology accredited by American Society of Transplantation (AST), and be board certified and eligible for licensure in Louisiana
• Academic experience to meet the relevant academic appointment level required
• Responsibilities will include participation in both the academic and research missions of the Tulane Transplant Institute
• Candidate oversees inpatient services that includes care of acute and chronic kidney disease, provision of dialysis services, fluid and electrolyte problems, and kidney and pancreas transplant
• Outpatient services include evaluation and management of, transplant patients and their associated medical conditions
• Administrative and educational responsibilities shall include overseeing transplant waiting list management, and maintaining compliance of the transplant program
• Must have strong research interests.
• Ideal candidate will participate in the teaching and clinical programs of the residents, fellows, and medical students.
• On-call coverage on a rotating basis
• Physician will attend on the inpatient services along with the fellows
