STAFF ATTORNEY – Employment Benefits Unit for our New Orleans office.
· This position is limited to 1 year and will handle COVID-19 cases as it relates to: Social Security, Unemployment, Wage Claims, and Food Stamps
Full-time staff attorney positions require admission to practice law in Louisiana. Starting salary for a full time staff attorney is $46,000-$55,000 depending on experience. Spanish-English bilingualism receives extra compensation.
Minimum Qualifications1. Graduation from an accredited law school with a JurisDoctor (J.D.) or LL.B.
2. Licensed to practice law within the State of Louisiana.
3. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication, client counseling, advocacy, research, dedication to serving vulnerable people and social service referrals.
4. Commitment to resolution of problems and issues affecting victims of domestic violence.
5. Dependability, ability to respond to emergencies, good work habits, self-motivation, capacity to work well with others.
