Job Summary This job description is intended to describe the
general nature and level of the work being performed by people
assigned to this work. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties

POSITION SUMMARY: The CRNA will administer anesthesia for all
types of surgical cases, in every setting in which anesthesia is
delivered, in accordance with their expertise. CRNA's will
administer anesthesia in four general categories: (1)
pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation (2) anesthesia induction,
maintenance and emergence, (3) post-anesthetic care; and (4)
perianesthetic and clinical support functions.
POSITION DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited to:
Performing and documenting a pre-anesthetic assessment and
evaluation of the patient. Developing, implementing, and managing
an anesthetic plan: Selecting an initiating the planned anesthetic
technique which may include: general, regional, or local
anesthesia. Selecting, obtaining and administering the anesthetic,
adjuvant drugs and fluid necessary to manage the anesethic, to
maintain the patient's physiologic homeostasis and to correct
abnormal responses to the anesthesia or surgery. Selecting,
applying and inserting appropriate non-invasive and invasive
monitoring mosalities for collecting and interpreting patient
physiological data. Managing a patient's airway and pulmonary
status using endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation,
pharmacological support, respiratory therapy or extubation.
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Anesthesia Program
Basic Life Support-HCP, Required. Registered Nurse. CPR,
Required at or before Orientation. Other certifications such as
De-escalation, ACLS & PALS must be completed within six (6) months
of hire/transfer date unless otherwise.
Skills: Performing and documenting a pre-anesthetic assessment
and evaluation of the patient. Developing, implementing, and
managing an anesthetic plan.
