JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Work Shift: 3:00p-11:30p, Monday-Friday
Summary of the Job:
Supervisor responsibilities include accountability for
maintaining quality performance standards, implementing
professional practices to include AORN and AAMI, and driving
efficiency and productivity.
The Supervisor's responsibilities includes planning,
coordinating, supervising, and evaluating clinical performance,
efficiency, and safety practices for the shift. This includes
managing the day to day operations and assuring quality standards
according to evidence based practice and professional guidelines
(e.g. AORN, TJC, and AAMI). Serves as a role model in providing
leadership and direction to ensure productivity, efficiency, and
Works in Collaboration with Surgical Leaders, OR Liaisons, Team
Leads, and members of organizational departments.
Minimum Qualifications: Leadership experience required with a
minimum of five years. Sterile Processing Certification through the
Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material
Mgmt. (IAHCSMM) within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: Surgical Technologist or RN graduate
of an accredited school preferred. Leadership of a Sterile
Processing Department, Acute Care Facility preferred.
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but
are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of
time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work
with a moderate level of noise.
