Overview Our SNF customer in Slidell, LA is seeking a skilled and dedicated RN for a combination treatment/supervising nurse. This is a Saturday/Sunday weekend special working 32 hours and being paid for 40 hours. It is 8 hours supervisory and 8 hours treatment. There will be a shift differential during the supervising half. Responsibilities The Nursing Supervisor works with the Director of Nursing to assure the following responsibilities are accomplished. This list is only partial and should not be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, tasks and responsibilities. Ensures each unit is appropriately staffed at the beginning of the shift Makes adjustments as necessary, replacing staff as needed for the oncoming shift Makes rounds at the beginning of the assigned shift and frequently thereafter and implements interventions as needed Supervise nursing activities and promotes improvement in nursing Maintains comfortable and pleasant environment and promotes elimination of Routinely checks and evaluates supply of emergency equipment Ensure that supplies are available in proper quantities, that equipment is available in good condition, and that personnel using such supplies and equipment know where such are to be found and know the proper care and use Receives thorough reports from Charge Nurses on all shifts and works closely with them to insure maximum total care Participates in nursing care as needed and is responsible for the direct handling of any emergency situation which may arise Recognizes significant changes in the condition of residents and takes appropriate action Assists with care as necessary to assure quality care is provided. This may include but not conclusive of assisting with ADLs, giving medications, doing treatments, supervising and assisting with meal service, calling physicians, transcribing orders Assess each resident in acute distress or unusual situations during the scheduled time in the facility Ensures that all personnel on the shift are oriented to the duties assigned to them Assigns personnel according to various skills in relation to resident needs Divides nursing duties of the facility to appropriate staff Works as staff relief in in emergencies Conducts orientation, in-services, and educational programs for nursing personell Have the ability to learn computer systems, system applications and related office equipment Promotes effective work relationships with the administrator, medical staff, personnel, volunteers, agencies, and management staff affiliated with the facility Attends and participates in facility meetings Participates in Quality Assessment and Improvement Program Participates ln Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Program Reviews Quality Measures and takes an active role in improving quality Assist with investigations and follow up of incidents, accidents and grievances Audits documentation Reports immediately to supervisor, administrator and local law enforcement situations involving abuse, neglect, or suspicion of a crime Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, HIPPA Standard, and Computer Usage Performs any other responsiblilities as discussed and designated by the DON Qualifications Must be graduated from a accredited school of nursing currently registered with the state agency of Nursing Licensure and hold a valid nurses license in the state the Nursing Supervisor is employed Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and Completes educational requirements per Maintains regulatory Occasional travel/overnights required for training, professional meetings, emergencies, and Reports to work on time and as Wears identification while on Must work throughout all areas of the Completes work in designated timeThe Nursing Supervisor works with the Director of Nursing to assure the following responsibilities are accomplished.
