Job Description:
Resource Power Group (RPG) is a division of Louisiana Cat,
Caterpillar's largest marine engine dealership. It is an authorized
MaK, EMD, Mitsubishi, Heinzmann, Regulateurs Europa, and Napier
dealer for diesel, natural gas engines, heavy-fuel engines,
turbochargers, and governors & controls systems used in marine,
petroleum, industrial, and electric power generation
applications.Service Responsibilities:Day-to-day running of the
Harvey workshopDay-to-day scheduling of the field service
personnelEstimating and quoting of service and shop jobsSupervises
the Service Administrator regarding:Entry of orders, hours, and
expenses into the accounting systemProducing invoices for service
and shop work from the NAV systemOrdering, maintaining, and
controlling of the shop and field service toolsDiscusses work with
customers by phone and occasionally visits customers at their
officesIn the spirit of teamwork, collaborates with other
coordinators and managers in RPG to achieve results for RPGLeads
and manages the shop and service execution processes for all
clients under his responsibility with the goal of meeting or
exceeding the end-user's expectations.Reports to Branch Manager
daily and weekly as required.Ensures customer satisfaction, safety
and profitabilityEstablishes a culture of professionalism and open
interactive team communication with a focus on a sense of
urgency.Keeps and orderly shop will all customer material and WIP
labeled with customer name and job number.Keeps a safe shop will
all forklift drivers having taken trainingMeets or exceeds the
customers' expectations as well as the Company's initiatives and
maintains Caterpillar's standards of excellenceParts
Responsibilities:Quoting spare parts to customers in support of
planned and unplanned maintenance, for engines and ship
systems.Estimating the cost of spare parts in support of parts
orders, service orders, emergency orders, and overhauls.Process
vendor invoices.Sourcing and expediting of OEM spare parts for
engines and ship systems. From time-to-time may be tasked to source
other miscellaneous components.Arranging transportation from
manufacturers and delivery to customers and/or RPG warehouses;
arranging for customs clearing and expediting.Work during off hours
when customer emergency situations arise (24/7 Service)Prepares
invoices and reports weekly and as required.Assists the Service
Manager with any matter so as to satisfy a customer need.Special
projects as assigned.Warehouse Responsibilities:Unloading and
loading of deliveries in a timely mannerVerifying quantities
received on orders and receiving spare parts in the DBS system and
locating goods in the proper locations in the warehouse.Pick, pack
and ship customer orders, ensuring that goods are packed properly
with the objective of no damaged goods received by the customerAs
required, relocate parts in the warehouse, depending stocking
quantities and change locations in the DBS system to reflect the
proper location of the parts in the warehouse.Perform cycle counts
of the inventory on a regular basisCommunicate to the Parts Manager
when package supplies need to be re-ordered.Maintain a clean and
orderly warehouse to ensure maximum efficiency and to minimize any
safety hazards.Communicates closely with Parts Manager to ensure
that priorities are clear with regard to shipping, receiving and
warehouse activitiesWork during off hours when customer emergency
situations arise (24/7 Service)Clean and maintain the workshop i.E.
run the floor cleaning machine, empty waste cans, and sweep floors
when warehouse duties are fulfilled.Serve as a driver to pick up
items needed for the shop or office staff as directedMaintain and
orderly lay down yard, i.E. keep pallets stacked and organized,
keep scrap metals in orderly fashion, etc.Assist shop personnel
with general labor activities as directedSpecial projects as
assignedQualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent.At least 4
years of warehouse and/or parts counter operations experienceMust
be able to drive a forklifMust have a valid driver's
licenseSuperior level of business acumen and
professionalism.Exceptional personal skills.Outstanding
communication and customer service skills.Knowledge of Microsoft
applications.Good understand of inventory control systemsAbility to
use web applications to create shipments with carriers i.E. UPS,
Saia Motor Freight, etc.Knowledge of large bore, medium speed
diesel engines and components is a plusAbility to contribute a
positive and motivated environment.
