Job DescriptionWeeks Marine, Inc.Crane Operator - Dredging DivisionHouma, LA YardJob DescriptionA Crane Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a stationery or traveling crane used to lift, move, position and re-position loads.Essential Job FunctionsManipulate crane controls to regulate speed, direction of crane and hoist movement using foot pedals, levers, dials, and switchesInitiate lifts, hoists and movements of machinery, equipment and supplies throughout the repair yard according to written, verbal or signaled instructionsEnsures loads are properly rigged and safe for lifting or movingInspect crane for safety issues dailyGrease, oil and perform minor repairs as neededPerform other duties assigned by the yard managementFollows all company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an "Incident and Injury Free" work environmentRequirements3+ years working in a shipyard or heavy constructionAbility to work more than 50 hours per weekThis position requires the ability to understand and communicate in English due to safety requirements.Certifications RequiredNCCCO - requiredLattice boom - requiredTelescopic cab requiredPhysical RequirementsMust be willing to take a post-offer physical and drug/alcohol screeningMust be able to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levelsWork will frequently require individuals to push, pull, bend, climb, walk, or stand for long periods of timeMust be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies and parts up to 50 lbs. unassistedAdditional DutiesThis Job Description does not cover all required duties, activities, functions, and responsibilities of the position, any of which may change at any time according to the sole and absolute discretion of Weeks Marine, Inc., with or without notice.Equal Employment OpportunityWeeks Marine is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
