      Accountable for the following:

      Monitoring the offloading hose during offload.

      Inspecting slinging equipment prior use and maintenance.

      Preparing loads for lifting.

      Exhibiting a high standard of safety behaviour and ensuring that all aspects of shipboard maintenance, rigging, slinging, storage, housekeeping, and general seamanship are carried out professionally, safely, and effectively.

      Carrying out shipboard maintenance under the direction of the Marine Foreman.

      Ensuring the safety of self, team members, visitors, and subcontractors within the limits of own responsibility.

      Assuming the role of RFPNW when the vessel is disconnected from the mooring buoy.

      Responsible for the following:

      Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and communication with supervisors, colleagues, and visitors to the FPSO.

      Checking preparation of loads for lifting, including confirming that the load is secure and stable.

      Using various lifting items (plate clamps, barrel lifters, chain hoists, etc.).

      Performing bundling and slinging of simple and awkward loads.

      Maintaining slinging equipment (slings, hooks, webbing plate clamps, barrel lifters, chain hoists, etc.).

      Directing the movement and placing of loads using appropriate hand and radio communication techniques.

      Performing rig, sling, and position blind load using appropriate hand signals and radio communications.

      Preparing the site for abrasive blasting and cleaning surfaces using abrasive tools.

      Painting or coating the worksite using correct colors, paints, or protective coatings.

      Examining portable power and hand tools before and after use and reporting any defects immediately.

      Restoring the worksite after cleaning and coating.

      Monitoring hose during offloading operations and taking action on anomalies noted.

      Standing watch as helmsman and lookout.

      Standing watch from bow of ship or wing of bridge to look for obstruction in path of ship.

      Maintaining a steady course, properly executing all rudder orders, and communicating with navigational terms relating to heading and steering.

      Navigating ship and maintaining visual communication with other ships.

      Standing security-related watches, such as gangway watch and anchor watch, while the ship is not underway.

      Standing by the wheel when the ship is on automatic pilot and verifying accuracy of course by comparing with magnetic compass.

      Operating deck machinery, such as the hose reel, mooring hawser, windlass, and winches, while mooring or unmooring and to operate cargo gear.

      Assisting with helicopter refueling as requested.

      Conducting baggage/freight loading/unloading.

      Conducting helicopter pre-arrival checks.

      Conducting helideck emergency response operations as defined in the installation emergency response plan.

      Conducting loading/unloading of survival equipment.

      Conducting handling and escort.

      Conducting reviews of helideck hazards.

      Ensuring that the work area within your responsibility is kept clean and free of hazards.

      Taking positive action to stop hazards and unsafe behaviors.

      Recording maintenance activities and reporting defects immediately and effectively.

      Carrying out any lawful command and delegated duty as issued by the Master, Chief Engineer, Chief Officer, Second Engineer, or delegated OOW.

      Minimum Certifications required:

      • Must have a valid USCG MMC with AB Unlimited
      • Valid TWIC Card
      • Valid 719k Med Cert (STCW)
      • Must hold all applicable STCW endorsements:

        • Able Seafarer-Deck
        • Basic Training
        • RFPNW
        • VPDSD/Security Awareness
        • Proficiency in survival craft
        • Basic Oil and Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations ( Preferred )

          Minimum Experience Required:

          • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a deck capacity in the offshore or shipping industries and at least 6 months experience as RFPNW on offshore, oil tankers or deep sea vessels
          • Rigging, slinging, and general deck experience
          • Experience as a Deck Operator on an FPSO/FSO vessel or other Offshore Mobile Unit ( Preferred)
          • Experience handling flammable/dangerous liquids -Familiarization with transferring of products (Preferred)
