Job Description:

An industry-leading client of ours is looking for an experienced Construction Cost Estimator to join their team of professionals. As a cost engineer, you estimate the various costs associated with a project.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver standard, consistent and robust cost management frameworks and procedures to projects
• Develop Project Controls Plan aligned with Planning, Finance Contracting & Procurement processes
• Field work to document as-built conditions and extent of damage to structures as a result of natural (wind, water, fire, earth movement, etc.) and/or human-induced origins (design and construction errors/omissions). Natural events can include large catastrophes such as regional floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes.
• Research of historical data and pricing in the development of repair and replacement cost estimates.
• Identify risk issues, their order of magnitude and proposed solutions to minimize them.
• Assist in the preparation of work scopes, instructions to bidders, bid forms or solicitation information, as needed.
• Communicate with clients, and interface with code officials and contractors to address construction issues to develop estimates and prepare reports.
• Manage multiple project assignments, executing them on time and within budget.
• Assess potential exposure/construction risk and be able to appropriately analyze cost and reflect these in an estimate.
• Develop general and special conditions costs.
• Identify value-engineering alternatives.
  
  Requirements
  
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Cost Engineering / Project Controls in the construction industry
  • Solid understanding of cost controls, including budgets, commitments and earned data, use of KPIs and analysis of variance
  • Analytical and interpretive skills in preparing comprehensive and accurate construction cost estimates (detailed and conceptual).
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification
