Job Description:
Job Objective:
Provides technical support and expertise for measurement best
practices and standardization across the asset base. Ensures meter
provings, shake-outs, gain-loss reports, tickets and deliverables
to accounting are performed accurately and on time for monthly
reporting, and as necessary troubleshoots and remedies measurement
issues or system imbalances.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise in Gas and Liquid measurement
practices, standards, and applications including meter
specifications, installations, proving, calibrations, and
communication
- Schedule meter provings as required and collect/store
associated documentation
- Assist operations in scheduling pot shakeouts and cutting of
tickets on end of month/first of month schedule
- Act as lead on measurement aspect of projects on assigned
assets
- Understand and optimize existing metering infrastructure for
consistent and quality measurement
- Lead efforts to analyze, resolve, and communicate material
balance differences
- Understand the assigned asset physical balances and how those
are transferred into financial accounting and financial reporting;
Provide accounting group with accurate volumes for allocations
- Provide support for installation, programming and maintenance
of remote communications hardware and troubleshoot those systems as
necessary
- Develop and maintain customer relations with producers and
asset team
- Compile and analyze monthly volume statements
- Develop recommendations for improvements to existing systems
and practices to streamline measurement processes
- Assists operations in other pipeline duties as time allows,
with measurement duties the first priority
Other Job Responsibilities:
- Available for travel 10% of time

Qualifications:
- 5 years minimum experience in the measurement, instrumentation,
and/or electrical field
- Strong working knowledge of measurement industry best practices
and API recommendations
- Experience in installation, programming, calibration and
maintenance of EFM Flow computers and gas chromatographs
- Working knowledge of Program Logic Controllers (PLC) and flow
computers
- Ability to read and understand Piping & Instrumentation
Diagrams (P&ID)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to accurately solve problems and troubleshoot
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and
the public
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing
priorities
Education Requirements:
Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent
combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient
knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and
responsibilities of the position is required.
