Position Summary :
Reports to the Academic Programs Supervisor. Responsible for
scheduling and administering all required academic and career
technical certification tests and assessments as applicable, and
the review and maintenance of all disability files for students on
center in compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and management
directives.
Essential Functions :
- Conduct orientation of new students concerning testing and
scheduling procedures. Acquaint students with the purposes of
testing, the way test scores and results are used and how they
relate to the student's progress in the program.
- Administer academic program tests and other student
certification and credentialing assessments as applicable.
- Coordinate test administration, scheduling and other assigned
student accountability functions with other staff and departments
as appropriate.
- Ensure all testing is scheduled and conducted in accordance
with DOL and management requirements.
- Ensure testing materials are appropriately maintained and
secured to ensure the integrity and validity of the instruments and
program.
- Maintain the Center Information System (CIS) modules related to
testing and other student data and information as required.
- Prepare and distribute required schedules, rosters and reports
related to student testing as required.
- Review and audit assigned areas and records regularly for
contractual compliance.
- Perform other administrative and clerical duties/tasks,
including but not limited to: typing correspondence, form letters,
schedules, forms, reports; proofread; copy documents; process
incoming/outgoing mail; answer telephone; and file.
- Review all student applicant folders as it pertains to student
enrollment and accommodation plans
- Create and maintain all disability files, to include reviewing
all accommodation plans with students and staff, in accordance with
DOL and management requirements.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards
for a work environment.
- Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff,
and other center customers.
- Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training,
personal and study habits and coordinate with other staff as
necessary to resolve issues.
- Participate in student employability programs and activities;
develop and conduct enrichment programs as needed or assigned.
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance
Policy and Center Behavior Management System.
- Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling
appropriate behaviors, consistently monitoring student behavior and
conduct, and mentoring students where necessary.
- Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to
safety practices; attend all required staff training.
- Coordinate with other staff and departments regarding issues
related to the provision of student services and to
interdepartmental and center programs, activities, and events.
- Cultivate and maintain a climate on center which is free of
harassment, intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for
staff and students to learn and work.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as
assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by
management.
Position Requirements
Education/Experience Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent and one year related experience
required. Post-secondary degree/credential preferred. Excellent
written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency
required. Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an
acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
