We are seeking a Maritime Senior Systems Engineer with immediate availability that will thrive in a challenging and rewarding process oriented environment. As a Maritime Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the systems engineering life cycle activities of advanced communication and information technology systems aboard US Government vessels. You will play a critical role in performing the systems engineering activities of mission systems, supporting the Coast Guard's mission to safeguard the nation's waterways. This position requires a strong technical background, systems engineering expertise, and a focus on delivering reliable and effective solutions across the C5 domain (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence) Location: This position is located in New Orleans, Louisiana Responsibilities: System Design and Integration: Lead the systems engineering, design, development, integration, and delivery of Mission Systems to support Coast Guard WCC operations, ensuring interoperability, scalability, and robustness. Technical Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert for digital Mission Systems, providing expert guidance and oversight in the evaluation, selection, and deployment of C5I Mission System technologies, architectures, and protocols. Program Management: Closely work with Program Director to ensure alignment of all stakeholders with technical solutions for successful program delivery. Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with C5I Mission Systems, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity and information assurance policies and standards. Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including Coast Guard personnel, industry partners, and other government agencies, to promote knowledge sharing and leverage best practices. Technical Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging C5I technologies and trends, conducting research and recommending innovative solutions that enhance the Coast Guard's operational effectiveness and efficiency. Training and Mentoring: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and personnel, fostering professional development and knowledge transfer within the organization. Security Clearance: US Citizenship required Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance at the minimum level of Secret Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Post Graduate degree in electrical engineering, computer science, systems engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years in the design, development, and integration of C5I and related systems,
  • preferably within a defense or maritime environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of communication protocols, network architectures, information assurance, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Proficiency in maritime navigation systems, integrated bridge systems, network infrastructure, communication and video systems.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading complex, multidisciplinary projects from inception to completion. Preferred Additional Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with and influence diverse stakeholders and present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
