This position will provide financial reporting and analysis for
Ochsner's consolidating entities and acquisitions, as well as for
Ochsner's partnerships, affiliations, and joint ventures with
external hospitals and health care systems. This position will read
and interpret various contracts, perform accounting research, and
determine the proper accounting for some of our more complex
transactions. This position will work closely with other corporate
and operational departments to ensure that we have all information
to properly account for and integrate these transactions.
Required -Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, Business
Administration, or Computer Science or related area
Preferred -Master's degree inBusiness Administration (MBA) or other
advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Required -3 yearsexperience in healthcare finance or in a related
field including two years of experience with project related,
multi-task responsibilities with a professional staff, experience
prioritizing, organizing and coordinating multiple work assignments
under strict deadlines, often in a high pressure setting,
experience working independently.
Preferred - 5 years related experience
Preferred - Public Accounting experience
Preferred -Certification as a Public Accountant or actively testing
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the
ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, such as
Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and similar
- Excellentanalytical, organizational, and time
- Ability to travel throughout and between facility
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to
varying levels of individuals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Perform technical accounting research to assess accounting
implications on various contracts or transactions and assist with
drafting of memos
- Review current and existing contracts to identify and ensure
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
- Perform month-end close functions
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Prepare reconciliations
- Follow internal and external reporting requirements, per
- Assist with the financial audit preparation and requests from
- Assist with agreed upon procedures as requested by external
- Conduct additional projects and compose various ad hoc
financial reports, as needed
- Other related duties as required.
