Description:Main Purpose Essential FunctionsMust be able to remove, install and repair insulation on piping, ductwork, & mechanical systems (tanks, heat exchangers, vessels).Experience with fabrication and installation of wool blankets for valves, flanges, and piping.Must have experience with sheet metal: measuring, cutting, removing, and installing with both bands and screws.Familiar with different types of insulation/applications: cal-sil, foam glass, perlite, etc.Must be familiar with blueprints, ISO, P&ID drawings, & insulation specifications. Can do insulation take-off using drawings and or BOM. Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.The job would require traveling offshore via helicopter or boat.Offshore experience preferred.Must be willing to work as a rigger/fire-watch when needed. The employee must exhibit good housekeeping skills & provide quality workmanship. Must be safety oriented & participate in pre-job meetings.The employee must have strong communication skills.Requirements:Physical Requirements Standing: This is an essential job function/physical requirement. Walking: This is an essential job function/physical requirement.Turning, twisting, bending, and stooping- These physical requirements are essential job functions.Pushing and Pulling- These physical requirements are essential job functions.Reaching, forward, and overhead are essential job functions /physical requirements.Climbing: This is an essential job function /physical requirement.Balancing, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing- These are all considered regular physical duties/requirements and would be needed/required to work in this industrial environment safely and efficiently.Lifting - employees must lift 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds.Job RequirementsTwo years of experience.Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.Must be able to pass background checks to company policy.TWIC cardDesirable Experience/TrainingHighschool diploma or GED.Environmental Conditions80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. Gulf Island will not sponsor applications for work visas.
