Job Description:
We are actively searching for an Electrical Designer for our
client, a leading manufacturer of switchgear, control panels and
power distribution systems. As an Electrical Designer, you will be
part of a team that works on packaging electrical switchgear and
components into turn-key manufactured buildings for industrial and
offshore projects. Your overall objective is to design and develop
building packages to provide more complete offerings to clients and
outperform competitors. Job Duties:
- Support the efforts to reduce cycle time by exploring or
reusing existing building design information.
- Effectively create designs for building electrical drawing
packages that focus on manufacturability, client specifications,
and functionality and regulatory requirements, while coordinating
with vendors as needed.
- Effectively support building operations through the timely
release of drawings and technical packages to production.
- Requisition building materials to ensure required materials are
available on time to support the building production schedule.
- Direct electrical gear integration team during installation of
panelboards, transformers, switchgear, cable tray and ground
systems.
- Ensure building electrical designs and integration meet the
latest National Electrical Code (NEC) standards for industrial
buildings.Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED, required.
- Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in engineering or
equivalent experience, preferred. Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of electrical design experience with industrial
electrical systems and power control buildings, required.
- 2-3 year of hands on experience in the installation of
commercial and industrial conduit, power cabling and cable tray
systems
- Self-motivated and able to identify, examine, and resolve
issues independently from others. Hold a strong regard for
guidelines, procedures and integrity.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science
and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques,
procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various
goods and services.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality
control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective
manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved
in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings,
and models.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC). This
includes cable tray and conduit systems in an industrial
environment.
- Knowledge of computer aided design software, (i.e., AUTOCAD),
including applications such as Microsoft Office Business
Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area,
etc.
