operates, monitors, repairs all utilities and related central plant
equipment and responds to maintenance requests for assistance to
hospital, clinic and supporting facilities. Maintains central plant
in good, clean working condition maintains preventative maintenance
(P.M.), and schedules and completes corrective maintenance to all
equipment in a timely and professional manner actively documenting
all activities and maintenance. Education Required -High School
diploma or equivalent Preferred -Associates degreeinOperating
Engineering Work Experience
Required -Experience with water treatment for heating and cooling
systems in order to efficiently protect the water and steam piping
and integrity. Experience using HVAC/Temperature controls, Energy
Management Systems, Computer Operations in order to maintain proper
building temperature comfort levels. Certifications
Required-Current 2nd Class Engineers Certificate for Air Condition
/ Refrigeration - ONLY if working at a facility in Orleans Parish*
Preferred - Current 2nd Class Engineers Certificate for Boilers &
Air Condition Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Physical and Environmental Demands The physical essential functions
of this job include (but are not limited to) the following:
Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects;
occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force. Physical demand
requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work. Reasonable

within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for
exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the
