Universal Consulting Services, UCS, is seeking candidates with
knowledge of the Military Sealift Command (MSC) system. MSC is the
leading provider of ocean transportation for the Navy and the
entire Department of Defense, operating approximately 130 ships
daily around the globe. The Mission of the Military Sealift Command
(MSC) Help Desk is to provide the highest quality, Tier 1 support
to the MSC User Community in a call center environment with its
many systems and applications, as they continue their mission to
support MSC Afloat and Ashore. In this position you will provide
Tier 1 support in a service desk environment with the goal of first
contact resolution. This also entails fielding email requests and
web-submissions, collecting and documenting incidents and service
requests with pertinent data, as well as escalating tickets to
appropriate groups when necessary. Log and prioritize calls into
the call management system in accordance with service level
agreements. Former or recently separating Navy Veteran or Navy
Civilian employee highly preferred. Must be a US Citizen with an
Active Secret Clearance Duties:
Respond to incoming telephone calls, emails, web-submissions and
other requests for technical support.
Use an established Knowledge Base to search for solutions common to
re-occurring problems/issues. Provide inputs and recommendations
for new Knowledge Base articles when new problems/issues are
Provide log-on assistance including resetting passwords.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problem issues.
Ability to multi-task.
Work effectively with little instruction on day-to-day work and
general instructions on new projects or assignments.
Professional interaction with customers by phone and email.
Clear thinker with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal
Familiar with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Able to work non-traditional work hours. Preferred experience:
Knowledge of Military Sealift Command, MSC, and the mission.
Remedy ticketing experience.
2-3 years of Service Desk/Help Desk.
HDI Certification This is awarded work with the ability to start
